Cusco Tour Cusco Tour: Alternative & Best The city has been the religious center of the Andean world and it deserves to be visited slowly considering that it has been a ritual center where many of its streets preserve that flavor with feasts that are celebrated in honor of the founders. If we choose Hatunrumiyoq street to begin our visit, we shall find the large stones precisely fit together without mortar and one of them has 12 angles, between several others, which shows the finest masonry that the Incas had. We shall take you along two Inca palaces on the way to the perfectly polished double framed doors and windows with which they were built and end this part of the visit by arriving to the main square that holds two immense churches that are to be visited calmly since we know they are built over Inca temples. From the main square we take a narrow street leading to the main temple of the Incas which has stone walls on both sides that was used to keep the temple for the chosen women and now holds a monastery for nuns of Saint Catherine until we reach the church of Santo Domingo which is the temple that the Inca called Qorikancha. Back to the main square over the street built over the Saphi river, we arrive to the secondary plaza (Reocijo) where the City Hall stands also over Inca temples. From this point we can reach the San Pedro market which was designed by Alexander Gustav Eiffel where you can taste several fruits that do not grow elsewhere and witness the variety of potatoes and maize corn that Cusco grows. Our culture is also manifested in different museums like the one dedicated to the Inca world, the other dedicated to the pre-Columbian world and the one dedicated to Machu Picchu. You are also invited to visit and participate in feasts, dances and share our customs and legends.
